| Can You See Me? |
|
| A girl was taken by the fairy folk to act as a midwife and, before returning to her own people, she was told to wash her face in a bowl of water provided by the fairies. She was careless and missed washing one eye. Later in the market she saw the fairy man and asked after his wife. He asked her "Can you see me?" She said "Yes, bot only with one eye." Whereupon he plucked that eye from her head and she could see him no more. The fairy people live among us but we only see them when they want us to. |
