Mor Rioghain
This triad of sisters, Mor Rioghan, Badhbh and Macha, were the active spirits of war and the protectors of an early Celtic people - the Tuatha De Danaan - who continued to appear throughout history. They appeared at major wars and battles between the warring tribes and families all over Ireland. They supported the great hero Cu Chulainn throughout his life. Badhbh appeared in the form of a scaldcrow as he died tied to a pillar. "lamenting and moaning, they wash in cold water the purple hacked wounded spoils."
